Plot introduction

十一世纪末期,罗马教皇组织了一支十字军对抗占领圣城耶路撒冷的撒拉逊人.三个年轻的好朋友理查德,彼德和安德鲁一起加入了十字军.这三人有着不同的背景,安德鲁是个牧羊人,彼德是个可怜的铸钟者,是一个信基督教的女人和一个撒拉逊男人的私生子,理查德是奥罗卡斯特的男爵威廉的儿子,男爵被与他敌对的兄弟谋杀了.十字军使用的暴力方法很快使得三个朋友之间产生分歧,在对犹太寺庙的血腥攻击之后,他们三人分道扬镳,安德鲁仍然追随十字军,而彼德和理查德则在耶路撒冷陪伴犹太女人雷切尔,她的老师,一位犹太学者,在十字军进攻中被杀害了……  Expand All
